Crab Bag
Golfer finds pissed-off crab in his bag while digging for a ball, unlocks new nightmare fuel
What do you expect to find when your shove your hand in the side pocket of your golf bag? A ball? Sure. Tees? Definitely. An old Power Bar and a nip of Captain Morgan’s (AKA the brekfast of champions)? If you’re really lucky. What you probably don’t expect, however, is the snapping pincers of a bowling ball-sized crab that stowed away in the compartment when no one was looking.
Just ask Chris Skidmore, director of Golf Operations at Playa Grande Golf & Ocean Club in the Dominican Republic, got quite the surprise when he found this terror of the deep waiting for him in his bag, Luckily, he walked away with all 10 fingers attached, but he did issue the following PSA to blissfully crab-unaware golfers heading to the Caribbean this spring.

Thanks for the heads up (and nightmares), Chris. Even if our bags are locked in the garage in the dead January 1,500 miles for the nearest ocean, we’ll make sure keep those pockets firmly zipped just to be safe.
