Barring something crazy, Scottie Scheffler will be the betting favorite to win the 2025 Masters. And there's definitely a good chance he'll once again serve something too spicy at the Champions Dinner (We're guessing the chili). But none of that means he'll be No. 1 in our Masters best bets ranking.

Why? Well, those small odds are a big reason. Then there's the fact that after a Christmas Day cooking incident required hand surgery, the World No. 1 has yet to win in (gulp) five six starts in 2025. So who are we moving to the top of our list instead? Here's a rundown of our top picks (with odds via DraftKings) to slip on the green jacket this year.

1. Rory McIlroy (7/1)

2205530784

Jared C. Tilton

Reason to pick: For the first time in his career, McIlroy has two PGA Tour wins before April. And they're two huge ones at Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass. So, the vibes are as high as ever for him to finally complete the career Grand Slam.

Cause for concern: As we saw at the Players, he's still pretty sensitive about letting the 2011 Masters slip away. And he mentioned an elbow issue after finishing the Houston Open. That being said, he also shot 65-64 over the weekend there to finish T-4 . . .

2. Scottie Scheffler (3/1)

2149026212

Andrew Redington

Reason to pick: OK, so we only moved him down one spot. He's still the World No. 1 and he has still won two of the last three Masters.

Cause for concern: We joked about him being in a slump with those six winless starts, but … for him, that really is a drought.

3. Xander Schauffele (10/1)

2162916643

Kevin C. Cox

Reason to pick: The reigning CHAMPION GOLFER OF THE YEAR is the only person on this list to have won two majors in 2024.

Cause for concern: Like Scheffler, Schauffele also has looked not quite as sharp in 2025 since returning from an injury.

4. Collin Morikawa (18/1)

2204216046

Richard Heathcote

Reason to pick: He's fifth in strokes gained/total since the start of 2024.

Cause for concern: Despite all that good golf, he hasn't won since the start of 2024, including that tough runner-up finish at Bay Hill.

5. Jon Rahm (11/1)

2193842839

Richard Heathcote

Reason to pick: The 2023 Masters champ has five top-10 finishes in eight career trips to Augusta National.

Cause for concern: He continues to be a top-10 machine on LIV Golf as well, but is coming off a disappointing—and painful—season in the majors.

6. Ludvig Aberg (14/1)

2199661543

Harry How

Reason to pick: The World No. 5 finished runner-up in his Masters debut last year and picked up his first PGA Tour signature event victory at the Genesis Invitational in February.

Cause for concern: The Swede currently ranks outside the top 100 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained/approach and strokes gained/around the green.

7. Bryson DeChambeau (18/1)

2199880788

Erick W. Rasco

Reason to pick: Last year's 18- and 36-hole leader at the Masters seems finally to have gotten over his personal curse after declaring Augusta National a "Par 67" for himself in 2020.

Cause for concern: Despite all his fantastic YouTube content, DeChambeau is only 16th on the current LIV season standings.

8. Brooks Koepka (22/1)

2203835851

Zhizhao Wu

Reason to pick: It's major szn, and that's what the five-time major champ does bet.

Cause for concern: This is still the lone U.S. major he has yet to win, despite close calls in 2019 and 2023.

9. Jordan Spieth (30/1)

2205266450

David Cannon

Reason to pick: The 2015 champ has finished in the top five in more than half of his 11 career Masters starts, and he's shown flashes of his peak self early in 2025 after undergoing offseason wrist surgery.

Cause for concern: Even with all his great play at Augusta National, it's been a decade since Spieth slipped on the green jacket. And it's been 60 starts anywhere since his last PGA Tour win.

10. Joaquin Niemann (40/1)

2205329730

Thananuwat Srirasant

Reason to pick: The hottest player on LIV Golf—and the true World No. 1 according to fellow LIV-er Phil Mickelson—Niemann rightly received his second straight special invite from Augusta National.

Cause for concern: The situation was similar last year and Niemann only finished T-22 at Augusta National. To take it a step farther, the talented 26-year old has never finished in the top 15 in any major in 22 career starts. Sorry, Phil, but that kills your case. At least, for now.

11. Hideki Matsuyama (22/1)

2023785670

Icon Sportswire

Reason to pick: The 2021 champ won his 11th career PGA Tour title in January at The Sentry, breaking the 72-hole scoring record in the process.

Cause for concern: Most people would kill to rank 23rd in strokes gained: approach, but not this ball-striking machine.

12. Will Zalatoris (35/1)

1965912983

Orlando Ramirez

Reason to pick: The 28-year-old is healthy again and has posted top-10 finishes in each of his first three Masters appearances, including a runner-up in his debut in 2021.

Cause for concern: That Saturday back-nine collapse at the Players was tough to watch—especially for Zalatoris backers. On the bright side, it kept his Masters odds a bit higher.

13. Viktor Hovland (25/1)

2206565477

Brennan Asplen

Reason to pick: The 27-year-old Norwegian jumps into our ranking on the strength of his surprising (even to him) victory at the Valspar Championship that had Vegas slash his odds nearly in half.

Cause for concern: There was a reason Hovland's odds were so high, most notably the three consecutive missed cuts, including at the Players where he shot an opening 80. But if/when he's on—as we saw at the end of 2023—there's arguably no one better.
