Why We Like It
- This hollow-body iron's face and neck are grain-flow forged from 4135 chromoly-steel through the 8-iron.
- Internal tungsten weighting through the 7-iron is 46.4 grams as opposed to 30 grams in last year’s version. This provides more stability on off-center hits.
- A new method of laser welding suspends the tungsten in the head, allowing the face to flex more on shots struck low.
- The copper underlay assists in delivering a smooth feel.
- For those not comfortable hitting long irons, the company’s Pro Fli-Hi hybrid offers a viable alternative.
- This model has a more compact blade length and thinner topline than last year’s Mizuno Pro 241.
- Top 5 in Performance, low-handicaps.
- SPECS: 7-iron: 30 degrees; PW: 43 degrees

I liked it! It's more of a muscled-back look and felt very stable and firm through the hitting area. I'm not sure on the tech, but it really dulled the sound, which I was a fan of. Distance was all there and it was consistent.

It's something Doctor Doofenshmirtz would use—the clubhead had evil tendencies. Super-aggressive looking, and people who might be stubborn that they're good players would use this. There's not much forgiveness. You have to really be precise to get these to perform. It's very firm off the face. The sweet spot is very petite.

It had surprising forgiveness for an iron that looks like a blade. You see "pro" on the label, but I found a ton of support with no real sidespin. If you didn't love hitting them so much, you'd put them on your wall.

It really felt great on short approach shots. Consistent, repetitive performance—a high ball that dropped out of the sky and sat on the green. The club is immediately familiar at address. It's like pack-and-play. No fussing to get used to any strange looks.

Molly
37, Handicap 0

The look of this club behind the ball is not too closed or offset. However, high-launch, high-distance consistency is not there unless you hit in the center of the face. Mis-hits got penalized more with shorter distance and direction that went both ways. It felt harsher, too.

Pretty sleek and slender club, almost feels blade-like but there was a large launch area on the face. All the mis-hits were in a pretty tight band. There was so much elasticity to the clubface. I got more of a penetrating ball flight but the landing angle was still sufficient to hold the green. Looks like a butter knife but plays like a sledgehammer.

Shane

Looks ultra pretty but impossible for me to hit it as good as it looks. Makes me sad, like I've failed my mother. I got a flatter, driving ball flight that I would have trouble holding the green with. A lot of resonance in my hands at impact, too.

When you look at it, it looks more like a players iron, but toe or thin shots would have similar distance. A good performing iron across the face. Dispersion and distance were both there. It was consistent keeping the ball in play. Even the mis-hits stayed close to the center line. Didn't seem to dig into the turf as much. The sole was able to slide through the turf even through the heavier shots. Feels good, looks good.

Love the matte-chrome finish combination on the head and the mass is hidden pretty well. It's such a forgiving club with good feedback on off-center hits. Felt like I lost barely any distance on toe-y or heel-y shots. I was able to work trajectory high and low. It was a little too loud for me, but other than that, the club performed in every aspect.

It looks like a skinnier, smaller head for this category. For a better player who is distance-irons curious, this is a good one to explore. It's a gateway drug. It gives you less margin for error on mis-hits, but well-struck shots hung in the air.

The distance was there. It feels like this club is looking for someone who makes perfect contact, because even slight mis-hits reverberate through my hands. I was still able to launch it effectively, but maybe it's for better players.

Perfect for a better player who doesn’t play much anymore. Incredible feel with added pop. You can work this club, but I found myself hitting high draws again and again. The way it sits on the ground, you feel like you can hit it in either direction.

If I could design a club, this is what it would look like. I really love the softer tone, and you can tell there's some technology but it also looks like a blade, which better players will appreciate. And, honestly, it plays like a blade. Not a lot of room for error; you have to hit it on the sweet spot, which is not large. When you do hit it, it feels great. Very soft.

A club that feels like I need to swing extremely smoothly for it to perform. When I try to put more power into it, I can't keep up with the clubhead, because it's too heavy for me. It's great looking, it just doesn't work for me. Feels almost like a sledgehammer at impact.

There isn't a more clean-looking club than this. The ball is quick to draw or fade, wasting no time to get to its desired line. It tore through the wind and the turf. There was a really tight dispersion across all shots, mis-hit or not.

This is the typical iron I like. There is less forgiveness on mis-sits, but the workability is easy both ways. Solid functionality in the wind with a slightly penetrating flight while still reaching a pleasing apex that holds the green. It's your standard solid thump at impact—a pleasing, meatier sound.

It looks like a craftsman spent a lot of time getting the aesthetics just right. The sensation and sound at impact were on the velvety side, an absolute pleasure. Very nice height and trajectory on well-struck shots. High and long. Poorly struck shots were still flying to the right distances but the sensation was worse, which was excellent feedback.

Extremely bladey looks. They even have the blade profile on the back, so there's not a ton of forgiveness. It looks absolutely beautiful over the ball. The sweet spot is soft but small. If you don't flush it, you're going to get a stinging in your hands like you're playing in 30-degree weather. It gave me a low-and-penetrating ball flight while being workable. Accuracy is there.
