urine trouble

PGA Tour caddie has to move urinating turtle at Houston Open. Yes, that’s a real headline

Sometimes, the stars align, and everything comes together in a way that’s almost too beautiful for words. You have to look up to the heavens and count your blessings, which is exactly what I did when I saw the following video bouncing around on the Worldwide Web.

Isn’t it just perfect? A caddie—Taylor Pendrith’s looper, Mitch Theoret, to be exact—coming face-to-face with Mother Nature at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

His pro was set to putt during Sunday’s final round, when it became clear that a turtle perched on the green would need to be moved. At first, he tried to merely reposition the turtle from the green to the fairway, but it soon became clear that it would need to be carried away. That's when the turtle decided that it wasn’t going to go gently into that good night.

That is, umm, a lot of urine from such a small creature, and the Internet rightfully had a field day with this one. One commenter added that caddie Mitchell Theoret needed “hazardous duty pay.” We can’t disagree there.

Pendrith ultimately finished T-5, knotted up with Rory McIlroy and Alejandro Tosti, raking in $337,843.75, so this turtle mishegoss was just a blip on the radar for the Canadian pro. We hope Theoret gets his 20 percent ... and maybe even a little bit extra.
