Overview
Open to members and guests of the resort, Gasparilla Golf Club rests on the picturesque coast of Charlotte Harbor. Though it perhaps lacks the overall ambiance and archtiecture, the proximity of the design to the water (five holes run directly along the harbor shore) and the exposure to the gusty winds puts Gasparilla in the same category of other Pete Dye seaside courses like Teeth of the Dog and The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. Tripp Davis is currently renovating the course, hoping to imbue it with more vintage Dye-like features that have been worn away.

“Good resort course with some difficult holes paralleling the Gulf. Usually windy with a few challenging greens. Kept in nice condition and a fun design."

“Enjoyable course on the island of Boca Grande. Course sits on small acreage but you do not feel like the holes play back and forth. Pete Dye did a great job with the property that he had. Very fair off the tee which is a good thing in case the wind is blowing. The greens are smaller and perched up making it difficult enough for the low handicapper to score but fun enough for the high handicapper."

“One of those hidden gems that you have to play if given the chance. Everything about it is charming and classy, even the one-lane bridge and tiny clubhouse. Dye did great things with a small piece of land, but that land is waterfront and scenic. The only drawback is a water treatment facility adjacent to three holes that Dye did a nice job to hide."
