“Incredible layout overlooking the Bay. Course feels like an adventure through the hills with a touch of Ireland. Good mix of forced carries and ability to run shots into the greens. Green complexes are fantastic with not many straight putt opportunities. Bunkers deep and tall rough protecting them. Plays firm and fast while exposed to the elements, but routes well to keep wind different directions."

“A wonderful DMK design in the East Bay hills of Hayward. Links style with wonderful shot options into large / firm greens. A good layout that is fine for walking even though the club would prefer that most members use a cart (for pace of play). The course is loaded with great natural aesthetics built into the rolling foothills around large rocks & valleys. Nature is evident everywhere with the abundance of wild flowers, animals (ducks, hawks, snakes, etc). This course can play much harder when the wind is blowing and due to the numerous new homes being built on the front side, there is some construction noise. Stonebrea is a challenging track with punishment waiting for a tee shot that does not find the fairway. Recovery is available everywhere, but these shots demand a skillful approach when hitting out of all types of muck! DMK likes to build greens that elevate from front to back / side to side. The greens at Stonebrea rolled true the day that we played, and were fairly fast (10 - 11). A fun golf course with lots of scenic views."
